Aurora Wings Challenge #47 Easter Pastels

Come on Spring! Here's an Easter Challenge in pastels. It's time for a new challenge over at Aurora Wings Blog, and this time the them is Easter Pastels. You can enter up to three (3) times if you use one of her images, or once (1) if you use another stamp/image. I love Mitzi's designs, so I have tons to choose from.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love butterflies. What better way to celebrate Easter than with a butterfly! So I printed up Butterfly Sprite with fancy wings three times. I coloured all three with Copic markers so that I could create a 3D version. The colouring is the easy part. What I hate is fussy cutting... but what I hate more than fussy cutting an image, is fussy cutting THREE images. *sigh*

For embellishments, I used my Silhouette to cut a few butterfly corner borders. I picked pink as my coordinating colour, so I lightly stamped a border with Distress Inks. While it was still damp, I sprinkled clear embossing powder and used my heating gun to set the powder. I used a few small fabric roses around a larger rose, and a thin light green ribbon.

Please join us on the Aurora Wings Facebook Group, and at the Aurora Wings Blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Such an adorable design and fabulous coloring and dimension on Butterfly Sprite, Jody! Well worth the trouble of fussy cutting. This is soo beautiful! (Happy you're blogging but will miss your emails. LOL) Thanks so much for joining our Easter Pastels challenge at Aurora Wings. xxD
Lovely work, Jody! I'm amazed that you fussycut the image three times! It does give the Butterfly Sprite a wonderful dimension with the cast shadow the layering creates. I love the contrast the bright turquoise blue brings to the soft pastels throughout. All the papers are so lovely layered together. Thank you for joining our Easter Pastels challenge at Aurora Wings! Mitzi xx
