Aurora Wings Challenge #55 -- The Elements (Second Entry)
This is my second entry to the challenge on the Aurora Wings website, Challenge #55 The Elements. When I first saw Viridis Incendia, I thought she was a mermaid who captured a butterfly and brought it underwater to eat. In Mitzi's Etsy shop, she is described as a spirit of the carnivorous plant, hehe oops! Oh well, I'm calling this the Air Element, for the butterflies... yeah, that's it. I will also use her in the Facebook challenge as well, which is why I used the FB challenge sketch for this design.
Again, she was coloured long ago, and put in my pile. I used Copic markers to colour her (sorry no idea about the colours), and added some Stickle Pearls and Glitter glue, as well as a few blue gems. I followed the FB challenge sketch, and did the exact same circle cuts as my first entry. For the smaller circles, I used papers from the Mariposa Matstack. I love butterflies, so I have a LOT of butterfly papers in my stash. I went with a beige paper for the background, to let the image do the popping.
For embellishments, I kept it simple, a few blue gems and flowers. Since the sketch includes what can be interpreted as ribbons, I added a blue ribbon, and a thinner white one. Tada! Entry #2 done.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Jody, I can tell how much you love Steampunk by looking at this exquisite inspiration you made for our latest challenge "Crop It!" at Aurora Wings. I love your use of red and white in addition to the usual shades of brown that most of us associate with Steampunk. The papers are subtle and beautiful, the cogs and gears are perfect embellishments, and the overall design is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for being our Guest Designer at Aurora Wings. Mitzi xxx
Steampunk perfection, Jody! Your colors, papers and embellies truly capture the genre. And what gorgeous coloring of Steampunk Angel! Love how you've cropped her. She looks like she's about to fly right off the card. Such amazing attention to detail! We're thrilled to have you as Guest Designer for this challenge. Thanks so much for joining us! xxD
